Rabbi Eli Bloom

A Far Rockaway native, Rabbi Bloom co-founded Olami West and has become a central force in guiding young Jews throughout Los Angeles. His role is as dynamic as his personality: he meets students one-on-one, leads educational trips and immersive programs, and gives weekly classes that are both grounded and thought-provoking. His teaching spans a broad spectrum of topics—from Jewish philosophy and character development to the meaning behind the 613 commandments—always delivered in a way that sparks curiosity and invites real discussion.

Rabbi Bloom is known for his ability to connect deeply with students, whether in formal learning or casual conversation. He creates a space where questions are welcomed, growth is encouraged, and every young adult is treated as a whole person with unique strengths, challenges, and potential. His approach is warm, direct, and empowering, helping students build inner confidence, a sense of belonging, and authentic Jewish identity.

Beyond his teaching and mentoring, Rabbi Bloom carries many responsibilities behind the scenes. He oversees staff, cultivates relationships with supporters, and manages core organizational operations. His leadership is rooted in a vision of long-term sustainability and impact: making sure Olami West isn’t just a program people attend, but a community they feel part of.

Whether he is guiding students on a trip, delivering a shiur, or advocating for their growth in daily life, Rabbi Bloom approaches every role with sincerity, purpose, and a deep belief in the potential of the next generation.
